Neptune Township is in Monmouth County. The Shark River runs through Neptune. Many of the condo / townhouse communities in Neptune offer waterviews or are on the waterfront. In addition, there are some condos in small buildings that are not in traditional condo / townhouse communities. These are mostly in the historic Ocean Grove section of Neptune, which offers access to the Atlantic Ocean and beaches Some are located in upper floors of retail stores and commercial buildings, converted Victorian era homes, mixed use buildings as well as small buildings with as little as 2 or 3 condos. Many offer an ocean view.

The Neptune Township Schools provide education to students in K-12. There are five elementary schools, one middle school and Neptune High School. Other schools in the area are Holy Innocents and St Rose.
